The financial impact of a bed bug suit can be substantial. In the 2003 landmark case (Matthias v. Accor Economy Lodging); Toronto siblings who stayed in a bed bug-infested motel room received a jury award of $382,000 in their suit against Motel 6. In 2006, a Chicago couple sued a Catskills resort for $20 million, saying they were physically and mentally scarred after suffering 500 bed bug bites. "I was horrified to see all of those bites all over my body," said plaintiff Leslie Fox. "I was miserable. My skin felt as if it was on fire and I wanted to tear it off." In 2007, New York opera star Allison Trainer sued the Hilton hotel chain for $6 million claiming she suffered more than 100 bed bug bites at a Hilton Suites in Phoenix. Her story was widely reported in the press: "They were all over the bed and the comforter and the pillows and I pulled the sheets off and they were just everywhere." Her attorney documented 150 bites and 23 scars. Just last month a New York Supreme Court judge ruled that two Maryland tourists bitten by bed bugs during a 2003 stay at the Milford Plaza could proceed with their $2 million negligence suit, though punitive damages were denied.
Heated dog beds keep a constant temperature and are designed to keep the temperature at a safe level at all times. Heated dog beds have controls that give you several setting choices. Some more expensive brands are thermostatically controlled thereby keeping a consistent temperature, varying only by a degree or two. Heated orthopedic dog beds are great for older dogs or dogs with Arthritis or Hip Dysplasia providing warmth in the colder months, the orthopedic dog beds are made from memory foam and the warmth from a heated dog bed can loosen the muscles and make them more comfortable. You can also get heated mats for outside use, pillow beds with an internal heater and oval beds for smaller breeds. There is also the thermo-wave microwavable dog bed warmer that is placed in the microwave and then into your dog‘s bed and will stay warm up to twelve hours.
Air beds are also known as blow up mattresses and are commonly used for camping as they are convenient and easy to carry. A lot of these air beds come with foot pumps but can be blown up in minutes with an electric pump. Air beds are also great for visiting guests. Water beds are just that - beds filled with water! There are two types of water bed, soft sided water bed or hard sided water bed. The more expensive water beds are made to lessen the wave effect which was common in the early models. Water beds are usually heated and a thermostat controls the temperature.
If you have a large dog, it‘s best if they have a large dog bed of their own. When you find that your dog is constantly getting on the sofa and making a mess with all the dog hair, it‘s definitely time to invest in a large dog bed. These days you can get large dog beds that look like real furniture so they don‘t look out of place in your home. Larger breeds need extra cushioning as they are prone to Arthritis and Hip Dysplasia, therefore sleeping on the floor isn‘t really an option with a large dog. When buying a large dog bed, you need to think about how your dog sleeps. Does he curl up or spread out, possibly a little of both depending on the weather and other factors.
