Futons are fast becoming one of the most sought after pieces of furniture for many homes these days. Gone are the days where futons are considered to be the "Jeeps" of home furnishings. Nowadays, with updated, modern styling, and health and sleep benefits that they provide, futons are fast becoming the "Mercedes-Benz" for the living room or bedroom. In a fast-paced, busy world, we‘re seeing a need to simplify our lives through convenience. More people are dining at fast-food chains (where even salads and fruits can be purchased for the health-conscious), shoes have incorporated wheels on the soles for riding around, and almost any products you can think can be purchased online at the comfort of your own home. With that said, people have found a way to make everyday living at their own homes more convenient; by replacing their conventional couches (and in some cases, their beds) with a futon.
As for those who prefer a longer futon, they can opt for the long double measuring 54" x 80". Basically, this variant would be combining both the queen futon‘s length without the added width. On the other hand, there is a single futon bed which is generally the small version, and it is not really huge enough for you to sleep on comfortably. On a lighter note, it does make an excellent lounge.
The functionality of the futon has been adapted some in western culture. Although traditionally, the futon did not have a frame but law directly on the hard floor, it has been adapted and place on the frame. Most of the western world‘s variants have hard plywood or soft pinewood frames. A common incorporation is the futon couch. The couch looks like it has two large bags that are filled with soft things. One of the compartments is for your butt and the other is for your back, when it is in the seated position. It can be laid flat to resemble a bed when you want to sleep. More commonly, these are being added to children‘s rooms. Microfibers are used to prevent staining, and also help contribute to their popularity in kids‘ rooms as well as living rooms that have a lot of family traffic.
Getting the covers off and on is easy because of the three side zippers. These futons are so compact you can have one in your dorm room or small apartment. You pick the frame you want and then find a matching a cover to go over it. If you decide you want a different look just purchase a different color cover. If you don‘t live near a place that sales futons, no problem they can ship it to you. So in about 6 days you will have a wonderful and versatile piece of furniture. The futon mattresses are made of a high-density convoluted foam, polyester and a top layer of Visco elastic.
